The Plough Inn is a family run business serving a Traditional Country Carvery along with a Pub Fare Menu. Situated at the crossroad of Spa Lane and Hall Lane in Lathom, Ormskirk, Lancashire, The Plough at Lathom dates back more than 400 years.
In 1871, farmer Joshua Markland started selling ale from the farmhouse and The Plough public house was born. In 1924, The Plough was sold as part of the Lathom Estate. Bidding started at £1,000 and reached £2,400 when it was sold to Thorogoods Brewery of Burscough. In 1930 The Plough was sold once again to Threfalls Brewery of Liverpool.
Today, The Plough remains a traditional country pub, offering a wide selection of quality food and beverages. Ran by the McMahon family, business offers a friendly environment for both diners and drinkers. Bookings can be made via telephone and walk-ins are also welcome. The Plough accommodating groups or parties and is family friendly.
